Club News

YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU!

Your Club is in urgent need of volunteers to fill vacant posts on the Committee, which are currently being covered by existing Committee Members doubling-up on their responsibilities.

Ours is a strong and vibrant Club, butneeds a full complement of volunteers on the Committee to run it.  We’ve managed to fill a couple of vacancies, but are still looking for members to act as UK Rally Secretary and Public Relations Officer/NEC Show Organiser, so please get in touch with a member of the committee (see ‘Who does what’) if you can help.

As for next year, we have received notice that our Chairman John Weir and Post ’54 Spares Secretary Richard Monk both wish to retire from their posts (after 40 years service in Richard’s case!) at the 2025 AGM, so please also consider if you are able to help with these vacancies from the next AGM.

Drive it day – Sunday 27 April 2025

Yesterday’s Vehicles Supporting Today’s Children. National Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005. It is the occasion when historic vehicle enthusiasts and the public at large have the opportunity to celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial organised in 1900 to prove the viability of the new invention, the motor vehicle. It’s also a chance to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping transport heritage on UK roads, while fund-raising for charity. Please see the website for how to support the event and buy a fundraising ‘rally plaque’  www.driveitday.co.uk
