Here you can download the latest and previous, even historical issues of the newsletter in pdf-format.
It was decided to make the magazine available on-line for several reasons, not the least of which is the fact that a relatively small print size is necessary in the magazine in order to fit all of the information into a limited number of pages, thus keeping costs down to the club-which would inevitably be passed on to members via the membership fees.
With pdf files it is possible to zoom in to a high level of magnification before the resolution begins to suffer, in most cases, more than sufficient to read the texts easily for most people.
Two file sizes are on offer. The large file is the highest resolution and can be downloaded in minutes with a broadband connection. The smaller file size is of a lower resolution but can also be downloaded fairly quickly with either an ISDN or Dial-up modem connection. It can still be magnified to quite a large size before image degradation takes place. The download tables show the approximate download times in minutes.
More recent issues of the Newsletter are offered in one file size only. The reason for this is that new software allows better resolution with a smaller file size. Thus a compromise has been reached which gives excellent quality, and still allows those of you with 56kbs dial-up, or isdn systems, to download the magazine within a reasonably short time.
You will need Acrobat Reader to open the files. If you don't have this utility, you can download and install it from the "Downloads" page of the website, or by clicking the logo on the left. Don't hesitate to install Acrobat Reader. It's free, and the publisher (Adobe) will periodically inform you of available updates in an unobtrusive way. No annoying e-mails, no commercial banners, no pop-ups.
